Danny Welbourne's 93 wasn't enough for Lancaster 2nds away at Leyland on Saturday.
A century from Ross Bretherton stopped Lancaster's progress after a good start from opening pacemen Matt Liver and Callum East to reduce Leyland to 74 for 3.
Jake Peake's 78 supported Bretherton as Lancaster used 8 bowlers to attempt to halt the rot - Geoff Orr, Dakshina De Silva and Danny Welbourne picking up wickets. There was little respite however, as Leyland posted a mammoth 261 for 6.
Laurie Atkinson opened up positively with Welbourne making a promising 23 before being caught off Elliot Boardman. Callum East showed his batting credentials at number four - supporting Welbourne through to his fifty.
Welbourne kept scoring but when East departed - the middle order collapse came as numbers 5 to 11 couldn't muster a score in double figures.
Welbourne was finally dismissed 7 short of a ton - bowled by Michael Birchall as Lancaster were dismissed for 179.
