Davies maiden fifty in vain

An unbeaten maiden Northern League half-century from Liam Davies couldn't help the 2s over the line at home to Fleetwood on Saturday.
Fleetwood set a sizeable 194 for 9 thanks to Declan Clerkin’s 68 and it would’ve been more were it not for Ethan Markland’s 4-30.
Danny Welbourne made an attacking 40 to get Lancaster off to a good start but the top order fell away. Dakshina De Silva’s attacking 37 kept the chase going before Davies got into his stride.
Davies efforts were to be in vain however as the tail fell away. Lancaster dismissed for 186 in the final over.
