Lancaster second XI suffered their second successive heavy loss away at Darwen.
Asked to bat on a very wet surface, the visitors could only muster 41 all out – skipper Alex Metcalfe was the only man in double figures with 21 as Lancaster's batsmen failed to adapt to the conditions and play the ball along the floor. Nathan Baxter scored 8.
Baxter claimed two consolatory wickets - the first featuring a fine tumbling catch from 'keeper Reuben Orr who put in another tidy performance with the gloves. But all in all it was a bleak day for Lancaster as Darwen romped home by eight wickets.
