On a weekend where very few players could be mustered for a 2nd team, Lancaster fell to a heavy deafeat. After being docked 5 points earlier in the week for failing to enter the game scorecard, they were brought even further back to earth.
Credit deserves to go to those few players who put the team first and helped fight the uphill battle from the start. Nathan Baxter stood in as captain, and on being inserted his side offered little resistance. Joe Atkinson (19) on his return, dug in at the top of the order but only young Liam Davies (15) could offer him any sort of support, as Lancaster subsided to 60 all out with Mike Dugdale picking up 3 wickets for no runs.
The Cumbrians made light work of the tiny total, knocking of the required 61 in under 12 overs with Graham Baker blasting 39 not out as Nathan Baxter's consolation wicket was the only source of cheer Lancaster could take back down the M6.
