Under 13s pick up first win of the year

A lovely sunny evening set the scene for Lancaster’s first win of the season for the U 13’s.

Eleven year olds Abijinth Mourgughan and Jacob Orr opened the batting for Lancaster having lost the toss. Carnforth took an early wicket and were looking promising until Jacob Orr went to retire for 28 and Ieuan Blackwell who came in 6th, retired on 25.

Daniel Lindsay, Tom Padfield , Elliot Marshall and Bobby Davies all batted well throughout the innings and between them built up an additional 30+ runs.

The confident young team continued to out play Carnforth in the 2nd innings. Two early wickets from Tom Padfield put Carnforth under pressure.

With great fielding from Lancaster and with three more consecutive wickets for Jacob Orr and three late wickets from Ieuan Blackwell and one from Katie Lindsay gave Lancaster their deserved win.
